All projects start with a "before" picture. This shows a typical family room in a colonial-style
home in the Washington DC area. Here is what we did: The ceiling was removed to the expose the
unused attic above the room. The newly exposed rafters were enclosed in drywall. The upstairs
bedroom now becomes a dramatic loft. The spiral staircase ties the two levels together. The
indoor pond is just for fun. The front-projection movie screen is even more fun!
Custom structure building is one of our specialties, as depicted by this elevated seating
platform complete with subsonic-shakers and low-voltage lighting.
These Irwin High-Back theater chairs were obtained from a retired theater in Los Angeles. It is
a mixed blessing that the beloved movie theater has moved from a public building into our own
homes. It is our job at PCI Inc. to capture the feel of the traditional theater and to re-kindle
that emotion within your home. Eventually these seats will be re-upholstered in a designer
fabric, another service provided by PCI. Sassy, the Black Lab, thinks it's a cool place to hang
as well!
Who says that a theater has to look like a big, open room with a bunch of seats and a screen? This
home theater retains the warmth of home (plus some) with the addition of a spiral staircase,
ceiling fans, a waterfall and a salt-water pond, complete with the Clownfish that are so fashionable
these days!
